ESP32 WiFi Library – WiFi.psk

Home / References / ESP32 Library / WiFi API / Station

Description

The psk method retrieves the Pre-Shared Key (PSK) of the currently connected Wi-Fi network. The PSK is the password or security key used for connecting to a Wi-Fi network. This method is useful for debugging or dynamically accessing stored credentials.

Syntax and Usage

The psk method has the following syntax:

WiFi.psk()

Argument(s)

This method does not accept any arguments.

Return Value

The psk method returns a pointer to a constant character array (const char*) containing the PSK of the currently connected Wi-Fi network. If no network is connected, it returns nullptr.

Example Codes

Retrieve PSK of Connected Network

This code demonstrates how to use the ESP32 WiFi Library’s dnsIP() method to retrieve the IP address of the DNS server used by the currently connected WiFi network. The DNS server is responsible for translating domain names into IP addresses, enabling the ESP32 to access websites and services over the internet. After connecting to the network, the code fetches and prints the DNS server’s IP address using WiFi.dnsIP().

To use this code, replace “your_SSID” and “your_PASSWORD” with your WiFi network’s SSID and password. Upload the code to your ESP32 board and open the Serial Monitor at 115200 baud. The code will connect to the WiFi network and display the DNS server’s IP address. Ensure the ESP32 is within range of the WiFi signal for a successful connection.
