Description
The isConnected
method checks whether the ESP32 is currently connected to a Wi-Fi network. This method is useful for verifying network connectivity before performing network operations.
Syntax and Usage
This method returns a boolean value indicating the connection status of the ESP32.
WiFi.isConnected()
This method does not accept any arguments and returns true
if the ESP32 is connected to a Wi-Fi network, or false
otherwise.
Argument(s)
This method does not accept any arguments.
Return Value
The isConnected
method returns a bool
value:
true
if the ESP32 is connected to a Wi-Fi network.false
if the ESP32 is not connected to a Wi-Fi network.
Example Codes
Check Wi-Fi connection status
This code demonstrates how to use the ESP32 WiFi Library’s isConnected()
method to check whether the ESP32 is currently connected to a WiFi network. The isConnected()
method returns true if the device is connected and false otherwise. This allows the ESP32 to continuously monitor its connection status and take appropriate actions based on the result.
To use this code, replace “your_SSID” and “your_PASSWORD” with your WiFi network’s SSID and password. Upload the code to your ESP32 board and open the Serial Monitor at 115200 baud. The code will connect to the WiFi network and periodically check the connection status every 5 seconds, printing whether the ESP32 is connected or not. Ensure the ESP32 remains within range of the WiFi signal for accurate results.
